CONTRACTOR RESOURCES
Become a NYSERDA Participating Contractor!
For consumers to qualify for NYSERDA programs, they must work with a Participating Contractor. NYSERDA financial incentives help your customers pay for clean energy work including residential energy efficiency, cold climate clean heating and cooling, and solar electric. Join a growing number of companies that have become NYSERDA qualified.
For Energy Efficiency contractors, you’ll need to hold a Building Performance Institute (BPI) GoldStar Status. A BPI designation acknowledges your expertise in building science and works to help your customers achieve energy efficiency, comfort, durability, health and safety in their homes. Learn more at NYSERDA’s Residential Contractor page.
Air Source Heat Pump installation contractors need to show certification as an EPA 608 Technician and evidence of manufacturer-sponsored installation and sizing/design training. A Clean Heat designer needs to show evidence of an active NYS Engineering or Registered Architect license. Ground Source Heat Pump contractors have other requirements. Learn more at the NYS Clean Heat participating contractor website.
Solar Electric contractors will want to become approved to participate in the NY-Sun program to help customers access incentives. Learn more at the NY-Sun website.
Contractors will also want to connect with the Building Performance Contractors Association of NYS. This network keeps you up to date with the latest information on working with NYSERDA, financing incentives and product developments.
NYSERDA also offers incentives to help you grow your clean energy workforce through on-the-job training, internships and other opportunities. Visit the NYSERDA Workforce Development page for more information.
